One of Sacramento’s premier small practices serving the entire community For more than 30 years Attorney Amina Merritt has been involved in the provision of legal services and advocacy to people of all socio-economic backgrounds. Ms. Merritt received stellar educational training at two of the nation’s finest schools—Amherst College, Amherst, MA (B.A. ’80) and the University of Southern California Law Centre, Los Angeles, CA (J.D. ’84). Ms. Merritt also received public administration training as a Public Service Education Fellow, Fordham University, Bronx, NY (1980-81).

Before becoming a licensed attorney, Ms. Merritt worked in law offices across the country undergoing innovations in technology and employment which have shaped and directed the legal profession and business offices in general since 1979. This makes it possible for the Merritt Law Clinic, though a small practice, to remain on the cutting edge of research, technology and law practice management. Ms. Merritt has also held several administrative positions, including Director of Personnel, Supervising: Attorney, EEO Officer, and Executive Director.

Public Law Practice

Ms. Merritt has received training as an attorney representing such clients as Los Angeles County (and its many departments), Orange County, AAA of So. California, the Regents of the University of California, Stockton Unified School District, Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District, and children, families and small businesses throughout the State.
